This Rare release started in a refill bourbon hogshead which was filled with Fettercairn new make spirit on 11th December 1995, the freezing temperatures on the cooling ring that day no doubt contributing to the unique characteristics. After 25 years the spirit within was hand transferred - within Warehouse 2 - into a single “Pink Oak Cask”.

This barrel was created by Demptos in Bordeaux, primarily for wine, and took eight years of analysis and research to develop it. This "pink oak" is a rarity due to its levels of carotenoids. This oak provides elegant fruit and floral notes, in particular strawberry characteristics.

After over 4 years of being closely monitored regularly, this cask was selected at the perfect moment.
